What is OruFrey Week?
"OruFrey Week" is a weeklong event dedicated to the ship between Orugio [Oru] and Qifrey [Frey] from the manga Witch Hat Atelier, written by Kamome Shirahama.First, there will be a Prompt Poll sent out on Twitter and Tumblr, usually open for around 2 weeks. We encourage as many people as possible, whether or not they plan on participating, to fill out the poll. The seven most popular options end up being the prompts for the week that year.Then, the day after the Prompt Poll closes, the prompts for that year will be announced. Each day of the week will have one or two corresponding prompts. From there begins the Creation Period.The Creation Period is just the time between the announcement of the prompts and the actual ship week itself, usually around 4-6 weeks. This gives everyone some time to create their pieces in preparation to post them during the actual week of the event. The idea is to create something that encapsulates the prompt and involves OruFrey.You can create as many or as few pieces as you like! If a prompt for one day of the week does not interest you, then you can skip that day and focus on making pieces for the other prompts throughout the week.Then, during OruFrey Week, everyone will post their corresponding pieces on their designated days! Remember to tag your pieces with the relevant Witch Hat Atelier tags, as well as '#OruFreyWeek2024' !
Rules and Guidelines
OruFrey Week is a SFW event open to all Witch Hat Atelier fans! As such, we do not permit—and the OruFrey Week Twitter and Tumblr accounts will not retweet or reblog—content that would be considered NSFW.NSFW content would encompass:
Graphic depictions of violence or sexual content, depictions of underage, non-con, incest, pedophilia, beastiality, abuse, excessive drug/alcohol use, etc.For Ao3 users, anything above a 'Teen' rating would not be permitted.Major Character Death (MCD) is permitted so long as it does not involve gore or graphic/violent death.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I miss a day? Can I post something late?
Yes! Firstly, this is a free participation event; if there are prompts you don't care for, you do not have to do them! Secondly, if you happened to forget to upload your piece for a certain day, or were simply unavailable that day, you can absolutely upload your piece the next day or whenever you're next available.For a week after the ship week ends, the mods also continue to check the tag to catch any late submissions. Don't hesitate to post late, we'd love to see what you made!Can my pieces include spoilers for the manga?
Yes! Ideally, content from recently published chapters should be respectively marked as spoilers, but you can absolutely include that content.Can my pieces include other characters?
Yes! As long as your pieces involve OruFrey in some way, you can add as many background, side, or supporting characters to your pieces. Writers can absolutely write from the perspective of other characters, just as long as OruFrey is the focus!
